Clark SD | for putting out tainted information. First off the temperatures i reported is what i measured. Here comes where i screwed up. There was five rows in the standing rye, tree rows were the taller corn the other two were shorter. Come to find out the taller corn was a different hybrid. As we plant corn we put three rows of refuge corn and 9 rows of Bt corn. So the height difference was caused by the hybrid rather than the rye cover. The two rows of Bt corn that were the rye cover were not any taller than those rows in the wheat stubble. As a matter of fact i couldn`t replicate yesterdays differences in temperature when i checked them today. Sorry for the misinformation. Mike |
