West Central, IL | I know a guy by me that was real big in it for a year or two, he sold his bars and went back to conventional tillage this year. I guess he got burned on too many acres with compaction and terrible stands and I do mean terrible. I got to admit that his crops do look better then they have in a long time.
It didn't work for this guy, it may work for you. I would suggest trying it before I went all in if I were you.
I strip till my corn and beans for the first time this year. I felt a lot better with the see bed for corn especially, I was not too worried about beans but I have a pretty nice looking bean crop this year. I think that with strip till corn on corn will be really easy to handle. I am set up to do no till but after this year I don't think I will ever plant corn in to untouched corn residue, unless it is on a farm where erosion was an issue.
Just my opinion.
