Subject: Hyd. sprayer pump on a 4440

Croswell, Michigan
I bought a new sprayer that came with a hydraulic drive Ace pump. So far I have only sprayed 90 acres with it but the gauge seems to flutter, hyd. hoses chatter when booms are shut off and the hyd. lever does not want to stay in the detent position to run the hydraulics with out holding it in position. Nothing in the manual about running the pump with closed center hydraulics vs. open center. Is there a relief valve on this pump that needs to be switched or should I look elsewhere for the problem?

I should add that the flow control on the outlet is all the way over to fast and I am returning the oil to the case, not through the SCV.
