(FJ economist?) layed out some graphs and proved that hogs would not eat $4 corn, when corn went up hogs population went down, proof that they starved cause they would not eat expensive corn. That one has stuck in my mind as the definition of demand destruction. Good to see that is not the case today!! Demand destruction is not that far away with the hog futures going down and corn continuing to go up. Hog futures are all a long ways off their highs. From what I've heard iso-wean pigs are getting cheap. |
