I'm not a cane farmer by any means, but my son is an engineer in John Deere's plant where they build harvesters, so I know a little. A cane crop planted in August this year will be ready for harvest next year. This would be in Louisiana. Not sure of the timing in other parts of the world. I'm sure someone with more knowledge than I will chime in.
