Southwest Missouri | My wife, her daughter, daughter's friend and I were in St. Louis for a Jersey Boy show. We got reports as we were leaving town.
My brother was at the farm with my 92 year old mother. He reported wind and heavy rain. Some yard trees lost branches and there was no power. Reports came in about the damage as we were driving.
We were over four hours away and driving towards the storm. As we got closer, the active storm went to the south of I44 so we had no real trouble. I44 was closed at hiway 59 exit because of overturned trucks.
My RN wife would probably been at St. Johns working if we had not seen Jersey Boys. Things look bad there. As soon as we got home, she put on her scrubs and went to town to help. Law school buddy's daughter's house was destroyed but daughter and her two little girls are safe. Reports are that many were not so fortunate. | |
