Subject: wanting to variable rate from 5gal to 40gal

Clifton Kansas
We are wanting to sidedress the corn with 28% the application rate for the presciption varies from 8 gal/ac. up to 40 gal/ac. (based on pivot corners, yield goals & N applied preplant) 80% of the field is above 25 gal.
We are using an agleader insight (direct command & liquid mod.) , 8 section 40ft coulter bar , hyd drive centrifgal pump and run around 6mph. We have teejet flow regulator orfice at each row(10psi to 60psi rate change is 2.5 times).

We priced a Capstan system (looks like a great system) but is to much $ for the acres we need to variey this much on.

Does someone make a nozzle that will allow a rate change of 6 or more time?(to allow for some speed changes)

I could do it with 2 complete seperate liquid systems on the bar (I have stuff to do this) . Have one system applying a base rate of the 8 gal. all the time and the 2nd system doing the variable rate of 0 to 32 gal (really 17 to 32) . The Rx file say 4 rates 0 , 17 , 22.5 , & 32.
Would that work to have a zero rate? And does it shut off the section valves or just try cutting the flow back to zero?

The prefered way being one system.

Thanks
Walter
