Subject: Cottonwood Tree-Weather predictor...

Mid Michigan
Anybody ever notice how cottonwood trees seem to predict when a big storm is coming by shedding all that nasty cotton fuzz right before a huge storm system comes through. I have one in my yard and it always sheds in the hottest spell you have, this year it happened this week. Sometimes it is much later. If we have a streak of a week of overly hot weather all the pods will break and get nasty and it is always followed by a huge change in barometric pressure and temps. I know if I were baling hay and my cotton wood tree started to shed I would only have a couple of days if I were lucky to get all the hay in before it rained on it. I am sure it doesn't always happen this way in all parts of the country but here in mid michigan that tree is a good predictor of things to come!
