Don't plant BMR if you have to chop it yourself. Chopping corn that is flat on the ground is no fun at all. You can get about the same yield and same quality with regular corn cut higher.

We don't get anywhere near 8* price of corn for our silage. Around here 200 bushel corn will make 33-35 tons per acre.
