| I didn't make myself clear..........irrigated acres will still push high yields.............BUT too much heat and lack of moisture can make a pivot get behind real quick...........my experience was if it got 100 plus for a couple of weeks and some wind would make anything less than 800 gpm on a well beg for a break.............1000 to 1200 gpm would keep up but you had to turn and burn..............I know of instances that guys would turn pivot motors on June 1st and only turn them off to drop the oil and spin a new filter..............run em hot and heavy till about August 10th...............
I know some of the guys I have talked with out there said a warm summer was better yields than cooler ones as long as they could keep the water to it..........I am talking about a situation were they can't keep up............a situation were dryland is roughage at best............you know the situations like it used to be in the early 2000's............ | |
