Subject: RE: Field IQ Problems

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
I follow your wiring to a point. Your ground and booms 1-3 would seem to be correct.

I'm at a loss as to why you lose power when boom 3 (pin 5) is shutoff. This would seem to indicate that Field IQ is living off of the output to Boom 3 which would certainly be incorrect.

I am not familiar with the Midtech layout so I can't help you there.

One of my Coworkers is trying to setup a Field IQ for his own planter for section control only. He believes he has seen some confusion as to how this works there. As I understand it, shutting off the Master with the Boom sections ON disengages the sections which is correct. Leaving the Master ON but shutting all the boom sections OFF works as expected. Having the Master OFF and all sections OFF results in not disengaging the sections so they are actually ON. I don't know if he has any new information.
