I am sure that they realize they could buy corn if they raised there basis for Aug. and Sept., but if they do it this way the do not have to raise there basis then and they will still get the corn. The share holds have the option if they want to deliver there corn or have the plant buy the corn for there shares. They might as well buy the corn in June and July for those share holders and then take the corn from those of us that want to deliver it in Aug and Sept.
