A friend of mine has been renting land from his mother for 15 years. A neighbor approached his mother and offered her twice the rent the son was paying for the land with cash up front. The son I thought was paying mom a fair price. Son couldn't come up with cash in advance so guess what, his farming career ended. Hope mom enjoys the money,(not really). It seems the big dairys are grabbing up the land around here.
Is it just me or does it seem like high prices have changed us?
