Texas/New Mexico Stateline

If you figure that $5898 in US dollars, it would mean that the same thing in today's dollars would cost $42926 today. Inflation is a pain.

Corn:
1960 average yield 68 bu, avg price $.98 it would take 88 acres worth of corn to equal $5898
2010 average yield 154? bu, avg price $5? it would take 7.6 acres worth of corn to equal $5898

same figures
1960 brand Caddillac was about $5500 took 82 acres of corn.
2010 brand new Caddy $55,000? 71 acres in 2010

Don't worry I'm not sure what my point is either.....other than things are all relative.
