That interesting. Sounds very expensive though. Just pumping shallow groundwater is expensive enough, let alone desal and deep wells.

Its interesting, for all the nightmare of regulations in CA, groundwater is still mostly completely unregulated. All I need is a $70 permit from the county and I can drill and pump as much as needed. Probably won't be that way forever, but for now its a very easy process.
