Subject: RE: Weight of IH plow?

central - east central Minnesota -

GuernseyGuy - 4/5/2011 10:48 Guy close by has complete IH 720 5-16 toggle trip and all parts for add-on bottom for sale. He wants $700 which he claims is scrap price.(would take 5000-6000 lbs.) with scrap price here. I said "thats too much, they don't weigh that much." He then said "well I can just scrap it," I said "go weigh it then." What would be approximate weight? I'm thinking around a ton, at most 1.5 tons. TIA

THis was discussed a while back . . . I guess like you 2000-3000lbs . . . I was corrected. Most replys were in the 4500-6000 lb range.
For that price, I'd give it to him. If a jockey see's your post, He'll likely want to find the plow, as it would bring at least twice that price and most likely 3 times the money. He can ship it long ways for the cheap of buying price.
Good luck
