Subject: RE: Shop questions

I am putting up a similar size shop. Going with the overhead door of the same dimensions. They're making them pretty tight and well insulated these days. I am not going with in floor heat. I know this is contrary but I am not sold on it being the best way to heat "here". If I were going to hold the temp the same 24 hours around and the door would never be open, I might reconsider. It might be nice to have a loop in the apron that would melt right around the door but heating the whole slab outside even to 35 is going to be a huge energy suck. Windows are nice but they're another energy drain. I think it is best to decide on the size like you have and then spend every dollar you can affford on insulation. If you do that right or even over do it, the heat source will be a non issue. Just my two cents.
