| While we debate whether corn is headed to $10 or back to $5 I wanted to throw something completely different out.
One of the things I've gotten involved in fairly heavily over the last year is "ag advocacy" - trying to help a non-farm public understand how modern food is produced. Part of that involved a blog, and I wrote a short piece a while back on high corn prices, and some of the very basic reasons behind them, just as a simple informative piece.
The reason I decided to share this here is because ever since the crop report on the 31st, there has been a noticeable uptick in the amount of searches coming to my blog searching for some variant of "why are corn prices high", just interesting to see...
The blog post is here: http://daringrimm.wordpress.com/2011/03/18/corn-production-101-why-... -- to most of you it will be elementary marketing info, but I wanted to keep simple as I could for intended audience
