I have one hanging on the barn wall, as a memorial.  In fact, we have three, different sizes, the biggest ones worked best, smaller ones sometimes failed.

I was told never to clinch them together when not used.

I know a farmer in Pennsylvania that really wanted one last year.  He slashed his palm cutting a bull, swore he would never use a knife again.  I'll send him the link, he may be interested.

I was usually the one behind, being yelled at to push the head farther into the catchgate, as the bull evacuated on my denim pants and shirt while being clamped.  Oh, the sweet memories of youth?
