Top middle of MO. land of green hills and grass
Basically on this place, there's a trailer with a stick built roof sitting on a basement, then 100' away is the original farm house. We redid the farm house and live there, but have just been using the trailer as storage. Have been thinking about some home based businesses, and would like to make the place look a little better, so thought the removal of the trailer would clean things up a bit. Thought if we put a roof over the basement, it could serve as basically an in-ground outbuilding, maybe be cooler to work out of in the summer, and cheaper to heat in the winter. Since the walls and floor are already there, figured cheaper than filling it in a building a new building back somewhere else. The basement is 14x70, could I cover that with a single slope roof, like a lean-to roof? Not planning to put a house back on the basement. Roof that I was planning to reuse is a stick build/shingled roof, but may be more effort than worth vs. putting up a quick rafter/purlin/tin roof.
