I installed this newer version this weekend but haven't actually used that tractor yet. There are several changes which are explained in the release notes which are also available on the website.
The upgrade procedure is to put the .img file on a jumpdrive. Instert the jumpdrive and power up the 500. After a a few steps, a screen will appear asking if the upgrade is desired. The whole process does not take long.
The new release allows the 500's keys to be used even if a keypad is installed. It doesn't appear that this version supports EZ-Boom yet since there is no mention of it in the notes. I believe that some early release versions supporting EZ-Boom are out but still in the test phase.
