Blvd d'Espair Bowhill, Sth Aust | Find something that is a good spacer(s) to put under the auger I.E. the right clearance between the floor and auger flight.. Then turn the auger so that the high side is "up"...and using a torch, heat a spot at the centre of the high point, and move the torch back and forth to extend the hot spot in a line around the auger tube, so that you get a line of red hot metal. When you've got it hot enough, and got the line long enough around the tube, the auger will sink down to the spacer(s). You will have a slight crinkle where you heated. It's surprisingly easy to do, quite controllable.. and can be fine tuned as you go.
NOTE : I dont know anything about bean heads...but I DO know about rock damage to table augers...
