Columbia Basin, Ephrata, WA
I always intend to take pictures when moving spans but somehow everyone is always busy.

Judging by the complete lack of obstructions in the backgrounds of all of the photos that looks like a pretty easy 60 mile move.

I'm kind of torn about whether that trailer looks like a good idea or not. I'd hate to be in the pickup if the span collapsed, and can see a few different things that the pickup could contribute to causing the span to collapse.

The standard around here is just a midsize truck steering axle with minimal framework to support the basebeam as well as the driver's seat and steering wheel. The guy on it has to plan ahead for cold weather, especially if the route includes interstate. One neighbor has a hydraulically steered one with about 200' of hoses so the cart driver sits in the passenger seat of the towing vehicle.
