Crawfordsville, Arkansas | We had a Crary air reel on a 30 foot head. Traded that for a 40 foot flex draper with a standard reel. No need for a air reel on the draper. I used the air reel more for blowing the beanstalks under the auger to feed better, not to keep them from falling back out of the front of the head. So yeah, in my situation a draper replaced the air reel. Better feeding reduced the bunching and falling out the front. Every situation is different though.
I would buy an Orbit reel before I spent the money on a air reel if I had to do it all over. The 35 foot flex auger table I had fed better with the Orbit than the 30 foot with the air reel. | |
