Medford, OK | Heres the information I got. OEM systems in Okarche will only install systems on pickups 2009 and newer, (government mandate is what the guy says) saying that the seals in the 09's are a hard seal instead of a soft seal in the intake system say on a 08 or earlier model. Wont work he says. The CNG system operates as, when you fire up the truck, gasoline is used to warm the truck up to operating temperature, when the operating temperature is met then you have to choice to switch over to CNG. No disturbance in the system, you wont even know that you switched. If say you run out of CNG, your computer will override the system and start you fuel pump and run your truck on whatever gasoline you have in the tank, but it will not do vise versa. The tank that the CNG is held in is a 21 gallon carbon fiber tank capable of withstanding 18K PSI. But when your tank is full, it will only have 4K PSI on it with 21 gallon equivalent to gasoline on board. You have a seperate rail/fuel system that is mounted to your engine, everything runs the same as it would on gasoline. Only thing is, it costs 11K. | |
