i had a 4440 that lost some forward gears and at least 1 reverse gear. i did the work my self . it was one of the cluch pack friction linings fell off. it didn't cost me even 1000 to fix. i don't have it anymore but the guy i sold it to says no problem ever. that was quite a few years ago.
