Subject: Case IH Corn Head Breaking Stalk roll bearings

MN
We have a IH 1083 head mounted on a 9650STS. We like the head a lot and right before last fall we rebuilt the head, including all new waterpump bearings for the stalk rolls. It's always broken a few of the bearing shafts every now and then, and with all the new ones we thought maybe not as many would break. What is the main cause for these bearing shafts to snap, and whats the best way to fix it? We had attributed it to the stalk rolls being wore and loose causing more vibration, but the last 2 we took off the rolls were very tight. Any info would be great.
