Bellevue, Iowa | I'm assuming from your user name, you're using a caseih planter. Me too. The Agleader electric clutches require changing the drive chains and sprockets, drilling holes in the frame, bolting on new sprockets on each row unit. The Tru Count air clutches just take the place of the seed unit portion of the drive. They are simpler to install, but the alignment is really critical. My dealer told me the Trimble is recalling the ones out there now, and coming with a new version. I'm hoping that's so. I have a 16 row planter, and putting on herbicide with Agleader liquid shutoffs. I had to go to 2 compressors. When I was in fields with a lot of short rows and point rows, the system was using so much air turning on and off, it would overheat one compressor. The compressor would shut down to protect itself, and there you sit, waiting. | |
