Rochester, IL | I have set up 2 so far and the co op has had nothing but issues. internet went down to the base they were operating on on a friday night and no one got on it until monday morning.
all the bases were not up and running this fall, so they couldn't get signal a few times. it is not a network solution, so if the one you are closest to goes down you are screwed unless you can get on another one. but in one case this fall both that were close to the tractor were down. they also don't automatically switch mount points to the closest point, so if the tractor is traveling a lot for custom as one of mine was this fall, the operator is always calling in to the office to try and get the correct mountpoint for the location he is in.
You also can't utilize Glonass for trimble units, since the signal isn't coming from a trimble base and trimble hasn't opened up there encrypted gnss message.
If you are on GPS only with a 500 or 252/262 and are always off of one base it would be better than traditional RTK, but you are still out if the internet provider or base goes down.
