Along with this yield map topic I was just wondering if it is possible to just attach the files off of a card into an email and send them to someone with the GIS software? I guess what I am trying to say is that can a person without GIS software still pull the files from a card and email them to someone who does have the software. I am fairly sure you can but just want to make sure. Thanks
Yes that can be done. I pull files from my card to my laptop, and then either email them or use a usb drive to take them to my other computer to map them...the laptop is the only computer I have that has the card reader drive, so I'm kind of stuck there. The files will just show up as items that can't really be opened if you don't have the software. Even on the other computer(s), the files are meaningless until they are read in and used by the program itself. Hope this helps. |
