Good Ol' East Texas | Have a 2001 2500HD 4x4 single cab with the a 6 speed manual with a 4.10 rear. I get 10-12 mpg on the highway without pulling. Pulling hard I get around 5mpg. Empty i get around 400 miles a tank (34 gallon tank) and pulling hard get around 150-200 miles to a tank. Knock on wood I haven't any problems with the engine and have around 150k on it. I try to change the oil every 5k miles and I use 10w30 oil but I think the book says to use 5w30. The only thing I have done to the truck is a new fuel pump which is my fault, ran it out of gas and burned the pump up, and a foot throttle sensor just recently. | |
