We've been using Intellislope since 2008 and wouldn't think about anything else, very impressed. Yes the RTK GPS is more accurate than the slope sensor when comparing the two side by side but with autotile you get the best of both worlds and they are used in conjunction. How much your going to loose signal near tree's really isn't something I can answer. You need to think about what your fields are like, were outlets, mains, & laterals will be, then determine if the trees are close enough that it will cause you to loose signal. If you are up along trees only on one side of your GPS receiver your likely to have enough satellites in view to maintain an RTK correction (as long as your still able to receive the RTK correction data from your base).

What type of RTK are you running? We utilize the IaRTN network (aka CORS) in Iowa which provides more flexibility for us since your not limited by line of site, the limitation is cell coverage. That's one of the downfalls of traditional RTK, if you have a base station say on top of a grain leg and your tiling 6 miles away in a valley or behind a tree line you may not receive your RTK correction data from your base.
