I'll probably get shot for this but we rented the Original True Grit to watch new years eve. It was a good movie, but FWIW I can't figure out how Wayne won an Oscar for that performance, or why the movie is held in as high regard as it is. I'd give it a 7 out of 10 at best. Hoping to see the newer version this coming weekend.
