Sac & Story county IA | It is just blacksmith work. The rack is held to the door with rivets. Those rivets can be replaced with flat head, countersunk, 1/4 inch bolts, trailer floor screws. Those bolts have to be cut off just above nut depth to clear. There are plastic slide strips that are held between the door and the racks. Those should be replaced at the same time. Those strips are about 1/4 by 3 by a foot or so, I forgot. Lots of people selling drop pieces on ebay of that stuff. There is some graphite bearing plastic that would work better than what was available when the trailer was new. The aluminum pieces that the door slides on need to be perfectly smooth. Whether that is done with sandpaper or whatever. The gears and racks should be coated with graphite paint. If you could get them soda blasted, that would be great. Clean all the grooves and stuff good. | |
