SE Georgia | The splines on the input shaft stripped where the coupling goes that connects the final to the transmission. I had a final off of a 1460 in the shop so I took the shaft out,and did it without disassembling the final drive. I was hoping to pull the one out of the 1460 and put it in the 1660. Christmas cought me before I got finished so I'll have to wait till Monday to see if I can get the shaft out of the 1660.I think Jon Hagen is right about lining the gears up and they will come out,at least I hope he is. If I can't I'm just going to weld 2 couplings together so I will be on some new splines.That should work for a day or 2 untill I;m finished with beans. Thanks for all the replies. | |
