southern MN
The city 30 miles away was just saying they've had 42 inchs of snow this season in 2 months. Think they had one heavy one we only got 2 inches of, but we are over 35 anyhow. Normal for a whole winter is about 44 inches here. It's been real cold, no melting at all this fall, so it's all stacked around. Had a rain to start one of the snowstorms, so now ice is pasted on all the roads & cattle yards that were cleared off. Been a tough Christmas season for local retailers, no one is driving on the ice roads we have here if they can help it. And snow storm advisories every weekend for the 'big sales days', state highway was actually closed here for almost 24 hours a weekend ago. Well - you can relate, the 'Farmfest' area has been hit hard by ice & snow, roads are glazed over even the state highways for 2 weeks now.

Really can't tell the cornstalk fields have corn stalks in them any more.

A local seed corn producer, Anderson's, has a good seed stock of corn that stands through most anything. I have a lot of peat ground, so go with their stuff. Dad bought corn seed from their dad.... Their old 110 day might have stood in a nuke blast, but no one plants 110 day here any more for grain.
