Lac qui Parle County Minnesota | Just saw it last January at the Smithsonian's newer museum. Very impressive airplane. A guide there told an interesting story about some nuclear protestors a few years back. The protesters just stood around until the camera crews showed up. After the filming was done, the protestors where leaving when one ran up and threw a jar of red paint at the Enola Gay. It hit around the pilots window, bounced off and didn't break until it hit the ground. Timelife had an interesting book on the developement of the B-29 and all the trials and tribulations that went along with it. If there hadn't been a war time need for a long range bomber, I doubt it ever would have built, given its early safety record.
