Downtown Shell Knob MO Come Visit!
Thats our problem, we bale behind an R-62 and I have no complaints about the quality of straw, We bale 14x18 small squares and 4x4 large squares, Both hold together nice and the customers love them, Our issue is, We can combine with a 540 massey will a 13 foot head and a R-62 with a 25 head, and the 13 foot windrows out of the back of the massey will make more bales per row than the 25ft windrows from the gleaner, In most cases I wouldn't complain because I dont mind returning the chaff and fine ground straw back the the soil and only baling the "true straw" But we have the ability to sell straw for much more than we can purchase litter and compost. I would rather money on the straw and replenish the soil with compost instead of returning the straw to the field.
