Sumner GA, Located in southwest GA, | They will turn into Southern Yellow Pine in 40-50 year, I'll be in my 70's before they are saw grade. They are the native species for here, supposed to be good for quail, deer don't touch them. For about the first 5-7 years, they seem to take forever, then they really take off. We really dont have that much ground to plant timber on, taking out a pasture now, part of it is being converted into field, rest is going to pines. Didn't feel it was worth the effort to refence a 3 acre pasture. |
