In NC, they could get RTK corrections through VRS. It is a one time fee of $500 for 2 passcodes then they pay for a cell modem data plan. Charging them anymore than $800, (if they found out about the state RTK) they would go elsewhere.
The good ol VRS story? We have thought about this in the pass, tried it, and FAILED miserably. In this part of the state, cellular signal is a hit and miss, whether using US Cellular, Verizon, or AT&T. I did mention running the VRS through an ethernet cable to a repeater on top of our grain leg, and getting the signal that way. But they would rather use the Green Star to keep everything simple as all the equipment is also green. |
