We have two manifolds but no valve between them.

I've never had a problem with plugging in a few hundred feet. If you go work 30 acres with the old tubes with a smashed end and holes in each side, you will get to dig stuff out. I've not really had any problem with the CP's plugging since I chopped the end of the tubes off.
