Subject: RE: NH3 / Sprayer controller

Raven controllers are nice, but I think that they are way over priced. I have two Ravens on my manure equipment, so I am very much familiar with them. But, I have all Micro-Trak consoles on my two sprayers.

Two years ago, I needed a new sprayer controller and contemplated using my Raven from the manure spreader also on my sprayer. For the cost of a Raven flowmeter, servo, and expensive Raven cables, I bought a complete system from Micro-Trak (via Shoup)....the Spraymate II.

If you have your heart set on Raven, by all means, buy it. They are excellent products. However, if you want to save some money....consider the Micro-Trak. They also have excellent service and support and new consoles have VRA capabilities. You would probably be able to buy two MT systems (one for NH3 and one for spraying) for not much more money than a single Raven. I've never priced a 450, but the 660 console that we use for manure were over 1000$ (w/harnesses).
