there is "boot code" in the NavII that determines the brand. A Trimble-branded unit will work only with Autopilot. A CNH-branded unit will work only with CNH-branded (AccuGuide/IntelliSteer/All-Makes) systems. Part of the partnership/licensing agreement between the two companies.
