| here's my 'Matches" story. At our fair grounds there is an old building that was in terrible shape and was a real eye sore and maybe even a danger to the public.
We were having a discussion on what to do with it and some felt that it should be fixed up and that maybe we could find some matching funds through a grant.
A friend of mine who strongly felt the thing should be torn down stood up and said "Here's your matching funds" as he held up a kitchen match.
Everyone just roared with laughter, even those who strongly wanted to save the old shed. Now ten years latter we still remember and remark about "Matching funds".
You know another thing that you aren't likely to see on anyone's tombstone "I wish I hadn't laughed so often". | |
