Starkville, Mississippi | Well, its seems that I have once again pissed off my local John Deere dealer (what else is new). I called NAVCOM direct (they make the StarFire receiver). Seems that they will broadcast and receive CMR corrections. They may also be able to broadcast CMR and the proprietary NAVCOM binary format. A call to Stellar support to ask how to configure the receiver to use CMR landed me a dumb look, and a request to work through my local dealer. Yes, you can actually tell when you get a dumb look over the phone. A quick trip to my local dealer got me the same dumb look and aggressively defensive salesman who told me to throw all my other equipment in the ditch and get all StarFire stuff (NOT a university option). Salesmen down here get pretty upset when it becomes apparent that you know more about their stuff than they do...
If anyone is interested, I'll keep you posted. Oh the possibilities if a StarFire receiver accepts Trimble (or other) corrections....... | |
