steiner43511 - 10/18/2010 08:39 sulfur defiency shouldnt be an issue on this ground (4-5% OM ), we never see it in the corn or wheat corn chem was surestart fb glyphosate bean chem was valor xlt and sencor I thought it was dry too, but the wheat is sure taking off good and now the weeds are growing strong. [ . . . ]
The radishes in the bean stubble look better, but I think just because there is less residue. ... The radishes probably don't care for the Classic component of the Valor XLT. And I'll bet the carryover from the flumetsulam ('Python') component of SureStart is knocking them. Brassicas have about 2X the demand for sulfur that corn or soybeans do. Furthermore, you're trying to grow the brassica (radish) immediately after the corn or soybean crop just got done sucking up all the S out of the soil -- so it's locked up in crop residues, and will be months before you get any significant amount released from it.
