Yeah, kind of surprised me a little too. We had a 3.5" rain a week and a half ago or so, but for a good month prior to that, we've been fairly dry. The big rains through the summer though seemed like the water tended to run right off. Worst part of this is that the ground 'looks' fairly dry. It's not until you get down a few inches that you see the muck. The local feedlot has been doing HM corn the past few weeks. They've had to pull the combine out of spots on the side of hills several times already. I think that this will be a year of constant unloading in order to keep the combines as light as possible. This one only had about 50 bu on it when it went down.
