Subject: no dtill drill question

North Central Kansas
Im looking for an upgrade on our drill.

JD LZ 3 section, 10 inch spacing 24 footer new in 65. and a jd 750

Boy for cost you cant beat her. Last year $15 parts, this year so far $0! Yes I need to disk, disk, cultivate before I use it, which at that price is not a bad thing to have to do.

Last year new boots, blades, and ?? on the 750, around $5000. ouch in comparision

NoTill.
spray and go. But you are looking at $60,000 to $100,000 for a good no till

We like the above one for :
1. liquid setup, prefer that
2. its a one unit not a train (tractor, drill, cart all towed behind like a train) like the other version JD has out

Im not sold 100000% on JD, but in my opinion they have the best true no till drill out there. The others, that I have seen, are double disk drills.

I do my seed wheat the old work the ground with the disk method, but do a lot of no till as well. this year we have 700 acres of NT.

I know the NT do a good job, but the $$ is what is bothersome to me
