We went through 2 on our 1440. First one lasted 4200 or so hours but the second one didn't last 300. Dealer said must be a defective but it was 1.5 years old and out of warranty. We replaced the shaft and pulley both times. I think the first set was caused by engaging the separator without idling down enough.
