Illininois steve, you dont have to be such a hard ass, I have talked to Monsanto reps, dupont reps, elevator people and the list goes on and on. One guy said that up at Lincoln illinois a guy had 40 bushel corn, yes 40 bushel corn on flat black dirt and I just yesterday had 3 guys offer me grain bins because they are not going to fill them. Piles are not being filled either. I think this year will go down as maybe one of the worst in years for corn and the lying USDA will eventually have to let it out, although it will be Feb. or March. Just my thinking and I am known to be wrong. In defense of poor dirt doing good, the lighter soil that drains is doing exceptional and soybeans are really super, but that is in only certian areas that got "it in early". We have areas where entire fields are going 60 to 80 bushels as well. Anywhere flat mor or less.
